Why convert SVG to PNG?

SVG is perfect for icons and logos on the web, but many places — social networks, presentations, messaging apps, app stores — only accept pixel images. PNG keeps the sharp edges and the transparent background.

What to expect

  • The PNG has the size the SVG declares (its width and height, or its viewBox). For a larger PNG, open the SVG in the editor, use Image → Image Size…, then export.
  • Transparent areas stay transparent.
  • The SVG is drawn by your browser's image decoder: scripts in it never run and external files it links to are not loaded, so those parts are left out.

Is it safe to convert an SVG from the internet?
Yes. Picstea draws SVGs as images, a mode in which browsers don't run scripts or load other files.
Why is part of my SVG missing?
Fonts or images the SVG loads from other files or websites can't be fetched in image mode. Embed them in the SVG, or turn text into outlines before converting.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, in Picstea's editor, which has no server to receive files and blocks sending them anywhere. Nothing is saved in the browser either.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Pick or drop up to 200 files; one file is saved directly, several are saved together in one ZIP file.
